So, let's be real. Everyone loves Zeus. He's an amazing, patient, loveable ball of fluff. My super cute nephew last night announced that I had a wolf in my house. He got over it when he got kisses :)
Luna is a sweet, calm, gorgeous girl. Everyone loves her, too.
But, every breed has cons. Let me show you a few husky cons.....
First, fur. Lots of fur. Massive fur. This is from the bath yesterday....
And these are from right after I vacuumed.... RIGHT after. Right now, Zeus is shedding giant tufts of fur. If I knew how, I'd be spinning it into yarn.
Second, holes. Huskies dig because they burrow. In the past, in the arctic, huskies burrowed into the snow to stay warm. Sometimes mine do it to stay cold in the summer. Especially if they can do it right before a rain, so it fills up into a pool for them! :)
Here's a great example of one corner of our fenced in yard - this has basically become the dog area...
Those are ankle breakers. All that stuff along the fence line? Those are blockers, where they've dug to try and escape. This summer, there's a good chance we're burying rebar. Yeah. They're serious.
Third, they run. I don't take pics of that because, really, I'm a little busy chasing. Zeus without Luna only travels in a circle - down about 2 blocks, across the road, through the yards, and back to the front porch. Luna goes. And goes. And goes. Getting her back involves at least 2 hot dogs and the van.
So there you go. Just want to give you a realistic idea of what you might be dealing with when all you can see for right now is this:
Cuz let's be honest. He is fricking adorable!!!!!!
